Where the hell is the ACLU?
One more example of the Youth Reclamation Project enforcing their agenda to the point of prohibiting free speech.
Seriously. Where in the hell is the freaking ACLU on this? Oh, that's right - they're more like the Anti Christian Liberties Union.
Reverse the phrase on the kid's shirt to "Be gay, not happy," have a school ban that, and I'd bet my last dollar that the ACLU would be there.

I remember getting it from Mr Simpson when I was in junior high about the shirts I was wearing. This was during the time before the Big Johnson shirts and Co-Ed Naked shirts were banned at my school. I was wearing all kinds of different Christian t-shirts. The one that got me the visit (or lecture) from the dean of students was my "Face to Face" t-shirts (that my parents had bought for me). The back of the shirt said "but now we see through a glass darkly, but then face to face." And the front of the shirt had a picture of Jesus' face with the crown of thorns and blood dripping down. It wasn't grotesque as it was a sort of animated picture of Jesus. I was told the shirt was animated and that I shouldn't wear it to school anymore. I was also reminded that "maybe some of my other shirts I have been wearing to school lately I should think about leaving at home." I was respectful to him, but continued wearing the shirts, until high school graduation! I got flack from more than one teacher about my shirts, but nothing ever happened in terms of actions taken. Isn't it interesting that my shirts, and these shirts worn by students that get them into trouble are expressing things that have been the foundational ideas and concepts and mores (morays) of our country and culture for two hundreds years? Now, rather than stopping deviant behavior, or at the bare minimum pushing it to the fringes of sociey, we openly embrace that as freedom of speech, and squelch those messages that are actually normative and good for our society. The religion of liberalism continues to astound me with their double-talk of "free speech" and yet demonizing anyone that uses it against their agenda. Man, this way of thinking is going to do us in! I'm glad these students decided to stand up, and even to call the bluff of the school district's enforcers and fear mongers. I do think it's a crock they settled for same theme shirt different wording. As a great poet and musician wrote (while prolly high on weed), "get up stand up, stand up for your rights!" I'm out like a fat kid in dodgeball!
