You've probably already read about this already. Ohio had trouble executing a convicted murderer when they couldn't find a vein for the lethal injection.
This is a good example of practicality going by the wayside in the name of political correctness.
I've never heard of technical difficulties with a firing squad.

Forgive me for being a smart alleck in regards to the firing squad comment. I remember going out shooting with you and Nick at one point and his (Springfield-made) pistol kept mis-firing. Now, I realize that odds are very, very minimal that in a firing squad that all the guns mis-fire, but wouldn't it be more fool-proof to use, as my eldest brother says, "big tree, short rope, fast horse?" Just a thought, I could be wrong.

Isaac, in theory everything could go wrong with a firing squad. I think the method would be far less prone to failure than a needle, though.
I sent this blog entry to my eldest brother. His response was that a pair of concrete shoes and the East River (an Italian mafia way of whacking someone) in NYC also works well.
